Voice Lessons
Technique that Serves Artistry
My goal is to help you learn a healthy and sustainable vocal technique, so that you can discover your artistic style and sing with freedom, joy, and confidence! This technique is grounded in vocal anatomy and physiology and in the principles of acoustics. Learn the technique and why it works! Most importantly, technical approach is layered with concepts that foster a mindset of ease and spontaneity, allowing you to feel, hear, and express yourself freely.
All Skill Levels and Genres
Because every student has different abilities and ambitions, voice lessons are custom fit to your objectives. I teach a variety of genres including musical theater, pop, and other commercial styles including contemporary worship, as well as the bel canto techniques of the classical tradition. No matter what your choice of music or ability, we work to sing with healthy and stylistically appropriate expression that fits you!
Singing for the Stage!
For those inclined to theatrics, I augment vocal lessons with dramatic concepts such as stage movement, character motivation and focus, line delivery choices, and dramatic improvisation. Voice lessons include fun theatrical skill exercises that help bring your song to life!
Vocal Rehabilitation and Speech
I employ voice therapy and relaxation exercises to uncover hidden tensions, including rehabilitation techniques for the fatigued or aged voice. In addition to singing, I enjoy working with actors, teachers, and other professional voice users seeking to cultivate a healthier more resonant speaking voice. My studio serves as a one-stop shop for individuals with technical challenges and vocal health issues looking to improve both their speaking and singing.
Flexible Scheduling and Payment
I offer weekly, bi-weekly, and ad hoc lessons to fit your scheduling needs. Payment is due at the time of lesson. A 24hr notice is needed in order to avoid a charge for missed lessons.
Encouragement and Gratitude
Most importantly, I strive to make the studio an affirming and encouraging place of trust and mutual respect, and a safe space for vocal exploration. Singing can be challenging, but be encouraged! It is also fun and rewarding! I’m thankful for the opportunity to inspire and encourage you on your unique artistic journey, so you can find fulfillment and satisfaction in your singing!
Workshops & Courses
Vocal workshops are a great way to inspire, educate, and energize your group. I offer workshops for school and church choirs, worship teams, voice classes/camps, and professional voice users. Workshop topics include vocal technique, vocal registrations (chest, head, mix), blending, vocal health, and healthy speaking. Topics can also be custom designed to fit the needs of your group.
Singing for the StageWorkshop

Singing for the Stage can be designed as a workshop or course suitable for summer programs or homeschool groups.
Theatre Skills Workshop
Theatre skills workshop is designed to give participants a taste of various acting techniques using theatre games aimed at developing ensemble building and spontaneity. This workshop is ideal for summer programs or homeschool groups, and can be designed as a workshop or course.
Piano & Music Theory
Augment your vocal training with traditional piano lessons, contemporary keyboard skills, and music theory.
Learning to play piano sets a wonderful foundation for our musicianship because it requires reading music and understanding the building blocks of harmony. Whether you are a beginner, wanting to improve your technique or musicianship, or desire to play using chords and lead sheets, my years "at the bench" playing for myself and students have provided me insight into guiding others through an engaging learning process.
Traditional Piano – learn to read music notes and rhythms, music theory basics and how it applies to piano playing, develop finger dexterity and agility, and foster musical expression including dynamics and articulation.
Keyboard Skills – learn to read chord charts, understand the theory of diatonic chords, feel rhythmic pulse and subdivisions of the beat, train ear to hear harmonic functions, create chord arrangements using inversions, rhythmic patterns, articulation, and dynamics.
Music Theory
I provide individual or small group music theory instruction. Learn notes and rhythms, intervals, scales, diatonic chords/function, and four-part writing basics. Classes can be weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly and are structured for individual goals and objectives, such as preparing for college placement tests.
